Cranes, hoists and lifts are used in construction and maintenance work to lift objects and people safely from ground level to a working level. The ability of this equipment to easily move heavy objects necessitates training and caution to ensure lifting of people and objects is done safely to prevent accident or injury.
EH&S provides training in conjunction with those organizations who use lifts such as JLGs or scissor lifts in the course of their work. We can also provide guidance on safe use and required checks for this equipment.
Reproductive Hazards
Dealing with reproductive hazards in the workplace is an increasing concern. Chemical and biological reproductive hazards affect both men and women. Material safety data sheets are one source of information regarding reproductive hazards of a particular substance.
Information on specific chemicals and organisms is available in a booklet from EH&S. We also provide training and can evaluate working conditions.
