Often, modern research is made possible or enhanced by the use of radioisotopes. The use of radioisotopes is tightly controlled and all persons using them must be registered and properly trained. All waste from this type of research is considered to be radioactive. This waste must be handled and disposed of properly. The EH&S Office provides all containers for storage and disposal of radioactive waste.
